Problem 1: After applying the rust converter, the surface drying and curing time is too long, exceeding the time specification of the use instructions.
Reason
1. The construction environment is too humid.
2. Too much rust converter is applied, resulting in dripping and falling.
3. The temperature of the construction environment is lower than 5℃, and the surface drying and curing time becomes longer.
4. the rust on the surface of the workpiece is completely polished off, and the rust converter cannot react with the metal rust.
Solution
1) If the construction must be carried out in a humid environment with water vapor, it is recommended to use air blowing method.
2) Use moderate viscosity rust converter, it is easier to hang on.
3) Simply remove the surface rust, pile rust and old paint, and then apply the rust converter to the remaining hard-to-remove rust.
Problem 2: Partial or large area of red rust has not been converted to black gray color.
Reason
1. the rust layer is too thick or lumpy, far more than the national standard D grade rust.
2. Localized oil pollution is not cleaned up
Solution:
1) Apply rust converter to moisten it completely.
2) Use steel wire brush and grinding wheel to polish the rust, and then apply rust converter after it becomes powdery rust.
3) Use cotton gauze dipped in kerosene to wipe off the oil stains.
